SUMMARY:Encaustic Collage Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Lori Chilefone will offer a full 5 hours of encaustic how-to and hands-on. Release your creativity and learn how to use this beautiful and flexible technique. The workshop fee includes substrate and use of materials\,(gouache\, paste\, beeswax\, hot irons\, paintbrushes) and various papers and printed images to incorporate into your art. *Participants are encouraged to gather paper elements (maybe you have been saving items for a project like this) that speak to your interests prior to the workshop: tattered or fine ephemera (i.e.\; temporary written and printed matter like letters\, catalogues\, greeting cards\, tickets\, maps\, post- cards\, posters\, newspaper clippings\, magazines\, travel memorabilia\, flat souvenirs\, etc.)\, handmade papers\, printed papers and textiles. Thin things that can withstand a little heat\, like metal\, glitter\, veneer and foil will work too. Hour break for lunch. $80\, class size limited to 12\, preregistration required.
