The Lower Chippewa River is home to 125 rare species. Seventy percent of fish species present in Wisconsin are found in the Chippewa River. This immense ecological richness deserves to be acknowledged, conserved, enjoyed and celebrated. Saturday will be a day to recreate on the river with guided canoe and kayak paddles, a bike ride, bank fishing and aquatic invasive species demonstrations. The WDNR will also be shocking fish and bringing them to shore for observation. All activities are free. You must bring your own canoe/kayak.
