Community Forum - Internet Predators

Community Forum - Internet Predators
Community members are invited to "You locked your front door"  "You locked your back door"  Who’s logged onto your  computer?"  a FREE community forum offered by the Dunn County Partnership of Youth.  There will be breakout groups for adults and youth ages 10-18.  The Forum will be held at Menomonie Middle School and it’s FREE for all ages.  The forum will include free childcare for children under the age of 10, food and door prizes.

Adults will have an opportunity to learn the warning signs when a child/teen may be at risk of online predators, when to contact law enforcement and how to minimize the chance of your child/teen becoming a victim.

Youth will learn how to keep themselves safe online and how to minimize their chances of becoming a victim online.

An estimated 77 million children are using the internet for various reasons.  Knowing what your child is using the internet for and who they are "chatting" with is critical. The internet provides predators a place to target potential victims, usually ranging in ages 10-17, without leaving the comfort in thier own homes.

If you are interested in learning more about the community forum or making a food or door prize donation, contact Jamie Lawrence-Olson at (715)-235-9552
