Jazz from Harvey

The UW-Stout Jazz Band will present “Jazz from Harvey” on Sunday, April 22^nd, 2012 at 4:00 PM in the Harvey Hall Theatre as part of the family weekend activities.  In this concert, the jazz band will be joined by the Stout Jazz Combo to present diverse music for jazz band.  Selections will including arrangements of Duke Ellington’s popular compositions Take the “A” Train and In A Mellow Tone, the standard Jordu made popular by Clifford Brown, Misty featuring alto saxophonist Nelson Denn, new compositions Trofeo de Bolos and The Defibrillator, along with an arrangement of the Earth, Wind, and Fire song Fantasy.  The repertoire will feature a number of soloists playing in the jazz, ballad, Latin and funk styles making it a concert to appeal to any listener.
