The primary responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist II position are:
· Processing requisitions and purchase orders in accordance with policies and procedures
· Assisting faculty and staff with the e-procurement system.
· Providing guidance to faculty and staff in interpreting procurement policies and procedures
· Developing and managing solicitations (simplified bid, RFB, and RFP) in compliance with regulatory requirements
· Reviewing and negotiating terms and conditions of campus purchases
· Serving as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
· Other duties as assigned
This position is expected to work on-site during the initial training and onboarding period. Following successful completion of training (after one year), employees may be eligible to participate in a hybrid work arrangement, including up to two remote workdays per week, subject to supervisory approval and in accordance with applicable University of Wisconsin System (UWSS) and University of Wisconsin–Stout Polytechnic policies and procedures. Remote work eligibility is not guaranteed and will be evaluated based on job responsibilities, performance, operational needs, and institutional guideline

Compensation:
The starting salary range for this position is $50,000 - $53,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent experience
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
Excellent customer service skills when working with campus customers and external suppliers
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations, policies, and procedures
Ability to work independently while exercising sound professional judgement
Proficiency in office productivity software such as Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word and Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing and managing simplified bids, requests for bids and/or proposals
Experience working in a procurement role
Experience negotiating contract terms and conditions
Experience with e-procurement software (e.g., Workday or Jaggaer)
