Wilson Place Mansion invites you to join us in celebrating the holiday season with our exhibit “A Wilson Family Christmas, the Holidays during the Civil War.” We will be featuring a history of Menomonie families, and the Nation during the Civil War, especially the story of Captain William Wilson - Menomonie’s founder - and his family. Learn about Christmas traditions in America as the war between the states raged on. The exhibit will feature Civil War artifacts, original photographs and letters from the Wilson family during the holidays, dinner menus from both the 1860’s dining room and the battlefront, music, literature and Civil War era Christmas trees. After your tour, be sure to visit our gift shop for holiday gifts for the family! Please join us in experiencing the holidays through the eyes of Menomonie’s founding family.
