There is no question that climate change presents fundamental challenges with respect to policy, technology, and social realities. And yet, as we seek to address these problems it is vital that we consider the mindset brought to bear upon the solving of them. Earth Day: Uniting People and Planet, sponsored by the Chancellor’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity Coalition (CEDIC) and the Office of the Provost, will be the kickoff event of a variety of Earthweek activities at UW-Stout.
Join Heather Hackman of St. Cloud State University and Hackman Consulting Group, for her keynote "Developing a Socially Just Climate Lens: An Essential Element of a Sustainable Future". This keynote suggests that a social justice lens is fundamental to the creation of a truly sustainable future. As such, suggestions will be made as to what the components of this lens are, how it can be developed, and how it can be applied to climate change issues in order to create an equitable and sustainable future for everyone.
