Knowing News-A Journalist Panel Discusses Today's Newsroom

In October, the library is hosting a three-event series dedicated to journalism and “fake news.” The series, called “Knowing News: Recognizing and Engaging with the News,” will run through Nov. 1st. In collaboration with Dunn County News and the UW-Stout Library, this series includes a book discussion and presentation by UW-Eau Claire journalism professor Jan Larson in addition to a talk with a panel of journalists. Read the Book-"The Elements of Journalism" by Bill Kovach and Tom Rosenstiel. The panel consists of Rich Kremer (Wisconsin Public Radio), Chris Ison (University of Minnesota Journalism School and formerly Minneapolis Star Tribune), Keith Edwards (WQOW TV), Pam Powers (Stout Communications and formerly Eau Claire Leader-Telegram), and Barbara Lyons (Dunn County News). Kate Edenborg (Stout School of Journalism will facilitate). This event is held in Ballroom A at the UW-Stout Memorial Student Center.
