The Ludington Guard Band presents it's annual Patriotic Concert, Tuesday night in Wilson Park Band Shell. The concert will feature mainly patriotic music, but will also feature a vibraphone solo by percussionist David Kile. The solo is called "A Tribute to Lionel" and the ""Lionel" is the famous American Jazz artist Lionel Hampton. You don't want to miss this special piece. The other highlights will include an arrangement of the 1812 Overture with live cannon, ringing of area church bells and a small fireworks display in front of the band shell during the finale. The concert will end with Sousa's "Stars and Stripes" with the audience helping by lighting waving sparklers. That is a tradition. Flag raising honors go to the Menomonie Honor Guard and intermission entertainment will be provided by the Band's Dixieland ensemble, The Whitepine Ramblers. The Girl Scouts of Menomonie are doing the pie and ice cream social and the Senior Center will be selling fresh popcorn. Stacked Eatery will be on had to sell their famous delicious sliders. It will be a wonderful evening and a great way to stary your 4th of July celebration.
