Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Bat Program and Bat House Building Wor

Wisconsin has seven species of bat, four of which are threatened and three are listed as Species of Greatest Conservation Need. With the newly introduced White-nose Syndrome in the state, there is no better time to assist in this citizen science opportunity. Join us and DNR bat expert Heather Kaarakka as we learn all about these misunderstood night flyers, and briefly learn about bat monitoring techniques you can get involved with. Following the educational program, there will be a bat house building workshop to construct a bat house for your own backyard. You will receive training on how to monitor your new bat house and how to report your data to the WNDR. Price includes bat house materials. Registration and full payment required by March 25.
