As an adult do you miss the fun you had with friends on Halloween? Do you miss dressing up in costumes on crisp autumn nights and roaming the neighborhood looking for great treats? If so, join us for the Witches Night Out event in downtown Menomonie on Thursday, October 20 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It’s all the fun of your childhood Halloween, but instead of bags of candy your parents have to check, the treats are the finds you discover while shopping for the unique and antique! Shop, socialize, and snack as you and other "witches" haunt the historic streets of downtown Menomonie looking for sales at independent and locally owned businesses. Be a visitor from beyond at boutiques, antique shops, a wine bar, an independent book store, chic salons, jewelry stores, a tattoo artist studio, restaurants, an athletic/team gear shop, an art store, and a henna artist studio. Compete against other witches in the “Best Dressed Witch” costume contest. Sign your name (hopefully not in newt’s blood!) at each participating business for an opportunity to win over $1000.00 worth of prizes. At 8 p.m., fly your brooms over to the Wilson Place Mansion to watch the historic horror film: "Noferatu: A Symphony of Horror." This 1922 silent film with a Dracula theme has withstood the test of time for its spookiness and is considered one of the top classic horror films ever made.
