The World Music Night is provided in collaboration with The Shawano Folk Festival, which moves west to the Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts with the following featured acts: Indigie Femme are one of the most 'dynamic female indigenous duos' to hit the music scene. The weavings of Navajo/Dine, Maori, and Samoan Cultures resonates with the powerful voices, and combines the thought-provoking lyrics, and interweaves with drums and percussion's. Jutta & the Hi-Dukes (tm) tours internationally, bringing worlds of music to everyone. The experienced, energetic duet transports your soul (and soles) with Balkan Gypsy grooves, Sephardic songs, Greek Rembetiko, hot Klezmer, upbeat Dixieland and Bluegrass classics, dark but sweet Scandinavian medieval melodies, and much more. This slammingly fun world music group sings two-part harmonies in over ten languages and plays Mandolin, Violin, Greek Baglama, Guitar, Bulgarian Flute, Ocarina, and Percussion, creating an ever-changing spectrum of color that crosses musical borders. Joel Kroenke, harmonica, is a Shawano, WI native and longtime organizer and volunteer at the Shawano Folk Music Festival, begun in 1979, as well as the host of the Cotter Creek House Concert Series at his home. The evening concludes with the opportunity for audience members to participate in folk dancing led by Jutta and the Hi-Dukes
